![]() ![]() ![]() Likewise, the distribution of archaeological material from Metal Ages reveals the appearance of certain Central European examples (swords, torcs, cauldrons), which are quite scarce in the surroundings, and thus recorded solely in this area which most likely represents the starting point of the so-called Morava-Vardar corridor. On the other hand, the area surrounding present-day Ram (Roman Lederata), stands out as one of the few favorable crossings over the Danube in this part of its watercourse. Based on the data from travelers and researchers, as well as centuries-old maps, the fact that most of the area of southern Banat was covered with marshy terrain, which was not suitable for the development of proper communication routes, is highlighted. The paper analyses the geographical, archaeological and communication aspects of the areas of Stig and Velika Morava and Danube confluence.
